What's so important about my pet's yearly exam and vaccines?

Vaccinating your pet on the recommended yearly schedule can help prevent diseases that can severely harm your pet as well as be passed to other animals and people. The treatment for these diseases are very costly to both the pet and the owner. Some diseases such as rabies and distemper are prevalent in wildlife and can infect unvaccinated pets. In Michigan, the rabies vaccine is required to license your pet. Learn more below about these preventable diseases.

The yearly exam is also very important. Early detection of illness can greatly reduce the cost and improve the longevity of your pet. In many cases, owners are unaware of issues their pet may be facing such as heart, joint, ear and dental issues. Animals are very good at hiding sickness. A yearly exam lets the doctor do an overall health check on your pet from nose to tail.
